GBGC’s Cheltenham Festival Fantasy Stable
After much deliberation, GBGC has made its selections for The Telegraph’s Fantasy Cheltenham game in association with Coral.
Our Barbican House stable will have running for it:
N J Henderson
D Pipe
C E Longsdon
Barry Geraghty
Paddy Brennan
Paul Carberry
After a slow start on day one, which saw the stable finish the day around 21,000th place, day two of the Festival was when the stable really came to life. This was thanks in no small part to N J Henderson and Barry Geraghty.
A treble on the card for the jockey-trainer partnership helped the stable amass some good points, as did selecting Bobs Worth (9/2) and Finian’s Rainbow (4/1) in the RSA and Queen Mother Champion Chase respectively.
Paul Carberry also helped add to the stable’s tally on day two with a couple of placed rides.
At the end of day two Barbican House stable stood in 5855th position. Onwards and upwards.
Thursday at the Festival started well for the stable. Sir Des Champs (3/1) was our selection in the Jewson Novices’ Chase.
But pickings were slim after that. The other highlight of the day was another Geraghty-Henderson winner in the form of Riverside Theatre (7/2) in the Ryanair Chase.
David Pipe also notched a winner for the stable with Salut Flo (9/2) in the Byrne Group Plate.
We have slipped to 7,390th place. It could all hinge on Burton Port in the Gold Cup on Friday.
