ICE Totally Gaming 2017 (7 – 9 February) will be the biggest ICE expo in the history of the event according to the organisers, with 5% more floor space than last year and a large number of first time exhibitors taking stands at the gambling trade show.
The gambling sector itself is also hitting new highs in terms of global gambling revenues. Provisional data published by Global Betting and Gaming Consultants for 2016 shows global gambling revenues passed US$ 450 billion and will are predicted to rise beyond US$ 465 billion in 2017.
Global Betting and Gaming Consultants’ Director Lorien Pilling said:
“The global gambling sector weathered 2016 well, given the political and economic shocks that took place in the world across the year. The final days of the old year even gave gaming a boost into the new year with the regulation of casinos in Japan.”
“But, as ever, it will be regulation and politics that shape the fortunes of gambling in 2017. On opposite sides of the world, in the key markets of the USA and the Philippines, there will be two maverick heads of state whose decisions will determine how the sector looks not just in their own jurisdictions but also in neighbouring markets”.
