Cambodian casino operator NagaCorp has issued an upbeat statement amidst all the gloomy news for the global casino sector.
Unaudited results for Q1 2020 showed a 15% increase in gross gaming revenues, driven entirely by growth in its VIP category, which increased by 25%. Mass market and Electronic Gaming Machine revenues both fell (by 1% and 15% respectively).
NagaCorp also stated that it is continuing with its planned expansion project, Naga 3. Naga 3 is due for completion by 2025. The combined facilities of the three phases of NagaWorld will have 5,000 hotel rooms, 1,300 gaming tables and 4,500 EGMs.
NagaCorp made the statement after the government required casinos to close their doors from 1 April 2020 until further notice.
